Dr. Charlotte Hilberdink
POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW
Dr. Hilberdink completed her Ph.D. at the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands, where her research focused on uncovering how the timing of lifetime adversity affects the biological and cognitive pathways contributing to the development of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) across the lifespan. She later expanded her expertise as a postdoctoral researcher at Université de Caen Normandie in France, conducting clinical trials on the neurobiological basis of prolonged grief disorder, with an emphasis on neuroimaging, psychophysiological, and psychological assessments.
Dr. Hilberdink is now working as a postdoctoral researcher at NYU Langone Health to advance the understanding of neurobiological mechanisms that increase vulnerability to trauma-related psychopathologies. Her interdisciplinary approach spans psychological, neuroimaging, endocrinology, psychophysiology, and statistical methodology, developed through extensive collaboration with clinicians, epidemiologists, and researchers worldwide. She has contributed knowledge in neurobiology-based approaches to personalized treatment and prevention for individuals affected by trauma.
